2019 Black Equal Pay Day

Plan to join a Black Equal Pay Day rally and press conference at 11:45 AM on Thursday, August 22, 2019. This date represents how far into the year Black women on average must work to earn what white non-Hispanic men doing substantially similar work earned in the previous year. According to the NEW YORK STATE Department of Labor, “Today, Black or African American women are paid the equivalent of 64 cents on the dollar." You read that right, 64 measly cents. Work with us to improve that on August 22 by amplifying our call for change!

"Be fearless! Speak out for equal pay. Every time you do, you're making it a little easier for a woman behind you. Most of all know that you're worth it!”

-Serena Williams
